Berkeley Skirmish: A medieval fayre and joust!

This has become a tradition for Family Howe....we have been attending the Berkeley Skirmish since 2007, and go every year (apart from when they had to cancel due to the rainy weather!), and we didn't miss out on on the 2013 programme!

We joined our lovely friends Jade & Chris (I'm their Maid of Honour for their 2014 wedding which I've posted about previously), and enjoyed a Medieval day out in the sun!

The fayre consists of:
Re-enactment village - See people all dressed up, doing Medieval hobbies, and there's lots of talks and interactive elements
Shopping - Lots of tents selling reproduction swords, leather items, cloth, cosplay/dress-up outfits (adults and children), handmade jewellery, wooden toys etc.
Food - You can enjoy a wild game burger or a hog roast bap, as well as the usual ice cream van or sweet stall. And there is always the "jerky man" too.
Arena - Falconry, cannon/gun/archery displays......

But, the two main must-see elements are the Joust and the Battle! Do not miss these!

As well as the photos, I filmed lots of various elements from the day in the hope of making a mini-vlog or video.....watch this space!

The Berkeley Skirmish is a great family day out, so do check them out for 2014!
