Light a candle for the Global Wave of Light

Anyone who has been affected by the death of a baby is invited to join a special ‘Wave of Light’ on Monday 15 October, at 7pm, as part of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day.

The event encourages people all over the world to light a candle and leave it burning for at least one hour, to remember all the babies who have died during pregnancy, during labour or after birth.

Anyone who has been affected by the death of a baby can get involved in the ‘Wave of Light’, as it can be a group event, or a simple, private rememberence.

The Global Wave of Light concludes Baby Loss Awareness week, which takes place every year from 9th - 15th October.

*****

I know two wonderful ladies who tragically lost their babies during childbirth, so I will be lighting a candle in their memory, but also to promote research into reducing baby loss during pregnancy and childbirth.

I almost lost Tristan at an early stage of pregnancy due to a lack of pregnancy hormones causing bleeding, so was on tablets during the first and second trimester. And Scarlett arrived a whole month early but thankfully was out of NICU within an hour of her arrival and weighing 7lbs!

One of my fabulous Facebook friends writes a fantastic blog about her wonderful boy who was born prematurely. Read her blog here http://notevena.blogspot.co.uk/

Thank you everyone x
