Things to do in North Bristol & South Gloucestershire...with kids!

Hello everyone,

Here is my list of things we as a family like to do in the North Bristol and South Gloucestershire areas!

1) Westonbirt Arboretum
A great gigantic woodlands for everyone to wander and enjoy. Don't forget warm clothes and your wellies.
The Gruffalo's Child Trail is on til 28th February!

2) Slimbridge WWT
A lovely bird orientated day out, where you amble through wetlands and feed the very friendly ducks.
There's going to be a Giant Duck Hunt over the Easter 2015 school holidays!

3) Soft play, including Jaq's LeisureThe Play Shed and Viaduct Nurseries Play Bus

3) Old Down Country Park
A fantastic day out for the family with animals and a large playground

4) Cattle Country Adventure Park
Another fantastic day out for the family. Animals, soft play areas, ride the mini train, roam the willow maze and much more.
Check out their annual ice skate rink every winter.

5) Nibley Bird Farm
A free little bird farm, where children can see a large variety of chickens and ducks. Inside, you can purchase farm fresh eggs.

6) Yate Shopping Centre has many events on throughout the year
Every summer they have a giant sandpit for the children, and their annual Santa's Grotto is another highlight

7) Frome Valley Farm and Shop
A lovely place to stop for an afternoon: a wonderfully stocked farm shop, and little ones adore seeing the pigs

8) Avon Valley Railway
A great way for train-fanatic Tristan to see trains. And as platform passes are free, it's an affordable afternoon out the house

9) Grimsbury Farm
It's a FREE farm with animals to interact with and a children's playground

10) Winterbourne Medieval Barn
We love their annual medieval fayre in the summer, and their orchard day in the autumn

Places that are still on our to do list are

1) Thornbury Splash Park

2) The Wild Place

Have you visited any of these places? What are your thoughts? Have I missed anywhere? Comment below!
