Over the weekend, we made chocolate cakes with a festive Christmas theme
My recipe for simple chocolate sponge cakes
165g caster sugar
130g self-raising flour
40g cocoa powder
Simply cream the butter and sugar together until light and creamy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Then sift in the flour & cocoa until well combined. Cook the cupcakes for approx 10-15 minutes at 180 degree. Easy!

I made both cupcakes (in traditional cupcake liners) and stars (in a silicone tray)
Using a serrated knife, I sliced off the tops of the stars and cupcakes to level the cakes
I decorated the cupcakes using rolled white fondant icing, topped with sugar characters
The stars are decorated using basic icing and sprinkles
And they were delicious, and all eaten before bedtime! Whoopsy!
