Letterbox Cake from BakerDay.com REVIEW

Happy Tuesday friends!

Just before Christmas, we were kindly given a personalised letterbox cake from BakerDays.com to review. It arrived safe'n'sound (although my postman oddly decided to hand it over to my next door neighbour instead of popping it through my letterbox as I wasn't home) in a very well packaged in a thick cardboard box. However, the box does fit nicely through our letterbox, as per BakerDays.com claim.

The cake itself was wrapped in a breathable cellophane-like bag, inside a snug but solid tin. As it was a Christmas-themed cake, the box also contained a mini cracker and a Christmas card, which were very thoughtful touches!

We opted for the sponge variety (but you can also select a chocolate chip sponge, fruit cake, gluten free and dairy free as options at a small additional cost). It was delicious, and tasted so fresh (Baker Days say these letterbox cakes stay fresh for 14 days!). The icing was soft, and wasn't too thick over the cake.

Our letterbox cake came with a big thumbs up from Tristan (and all of us!)

The letterbox cake measures 5" diameter, and serves 3-4, and costs £14.99 (as of 29th December 2014). There are several delivery options, with the basic being free (sent as 2nd class post, and arriving with your regular post within 7 days). See their website for all the options.

The letterbox cake range comes in a large variety of themes: Christmas, birthdays, anniversary, congratulations, new job, new baby...and many more! Even if your desired design is not available, there is a "Design Your Own" option where you can upload your own photo and input your own text.

You can discover more of Baker Days cake's on their website, Facebook, and Twitter.
