It's nearly Halloween, huzzah! And to get in the spooky spirit, I made Ghost Cake Pops for Tristan & Scarlett to enjoy.
How I made them:
Here is everything I used to make the ghost cake pops
The main elements are vanilla sponge cakes, vanilla frosting, white chocolate,
white ready-to-roll icing and black food colouring
First stage is to break up the vanilla sponge into fine crumbs then mix with vanilla frosting
until you get a thick dough. It's easier to start the mixing process with a spoon, then use your
(clean) hands once the dough gets thicker
Form the dough mixture into little balls, about the size of a ping-pong ball,
then refrigerate for approx 30 minutes
Melt a little of the white chocolate in a small bowl.
Dip the lolly-stick into the chocolate, then pierce it through a cake ball
A great asset to making cake pops is to use a stand like this to keep them upright
Melt the remaining white chocolate, then gently coat each cake pop in the chocolate.
Allow to set in a fridge for 1-2 hours
Roll out the icing to about 2mm thick, then cut out circles
Add a small blob of melted white chocolate to the top of the cake pop (to act as a glue)
then gently drape over the circle of icing
Using a fine paintbrush, paint on black food colouring to make ghost faces
Voila!
Here is Tristan ready to enjoy a delicious ghost cake pop!
