The Dettol Baby Blanket Donation Campaign

Howdy everyone, and welcome back to my little family lifestyle blog!

Today, I'm sharing the details of the new Dettol Baby Blanket Donation Campaign.

I'm pleased to be supporting this campaign from Dettol which aims to encourage mums across the UK to "keep the memories, not the bacteria" by donating a baby blanket for infants born into disadvantaged families. Once donated, the baby blankets will be hygienically washed with the Dettol Anti-bacterial Laundry Cleanser before being redistributed to families in need.

Rachel Stevens, mum of two and new ambassador of Dettol Anti-bacterial Laundry Cleanser, launched this charity campaign in central London earlier this week by donating the very first blanket.

Rachel commented "The Dettol Baby Blanket Donation really resonated with me as a mum. I remember bringing my girls home for the first time in theirs and what a special time that was. Many babies across the world will never get the chance to experience the comfort of a warm, clean blanket. That's the reason why I'm supporting the campaign, asking mums to donate blankets to those in need so those babies don't miss out".

Research commissioned by Dettol has shown that baby blankets (used but washed) still carry a variety of bacteria even after a 40 degree wash, with some even harbouring coliforms - a group of bacteria linked to faeces.

Additionally, Dettol Anti-bacterial Laundry Cleanser has pledged to donate £1 for every blanket donated to children's medical research charity "Sparks" to raise funds for UK families with children who are affected by serious illness or disability.

If you would like to donate a blanket, you can send it Freepost (no stamp required) to:
