The Camomile Rooms REVIEW

I was delighted to be invited to see The Camomile Rooms and review a treatment from the owner Nicky Read. The Camomile Rooms is located in the heart of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and has been running for nearly three years as a holistic centre designed to revive & treat your body, mind and spirit.

Nicky and her team of therapists offer a wide range of treatments, including reproductive reflexology, maternity reflexology, pregnancy massage, reflexology birthing packages, plus the more traditional treatments including Indian head massage, hot stone massage, Hopi ear candles and many more. You can see the entire treatment list here.

I was offered a complimentary treatment to review, and I selected the Indian head massage which is a 45 minute long therapy. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by Nicky who after greeting me with a refreshing glass of water, showed me through to one of the treatment rooms. The room felt so calm and relaxing, and I was immediately hit by a pleasing waft of incense.

After the usual questions of health, diet, lifestyle etc, Nicky explained how the treatment would work. She then set about creating a blend of oils tailored to me, and together we picked out geranium (to relax), orange (my favourite scent) and rosemary (to balance the geranium). I donned a purple fleece wrap, then sat wrapped in an additional blanket, on a comfy chair.

Nicky then began the treatment, starting with my upper back and shoulders, then working her way up to my neck, scalp and face. It was blissful, and mixed with the gentle background music so relaxing. During the initial consultation, I informed Nicky that I liked a slow gentle massage first, getting deeper as time elapsed. and she did that perfectly.

At the end of the treatment, I was given a glass of water and given a few minutes to rejuvenate before chatting with Nicky about the Camomile Rooms and my blog.

The Camomile Rooms is proud to offer complementary treatments for cancer patients. Nicky is truly passionate about treating people to help them feel more comfortable whilst undergoing medical procedures and to give them ways of coping with their rollercoaster of emotions they are experiencing during their difficult time.

Thank you Nicky for this opportunity, and best of luck with the Cheltenham Half Marathon. You're a star for helping to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

In addition to their website, you can find The Camomile Rooms on Facebook and Twitter.
