"How to have an Amicable Divorce" by Lindsay Harper BOOK REVIEW

It's always a treat when I receive a book to review as it means I have to find some quiet time away from the kiddiwinks to read it thoroughly.

I received an e-copy of "How to have an Amicable Divorce" written by Lindsay Harper to read and review.

Have you ever got yourself in so deep you feel like running away and starting a new life?

That’s exactly what wife and artist, Denizon Cartwright felt like doing. After deciding that she couldn’t put up with her unfaithful husband any longer, she leaves him for smooth-talking artist and professor, Damien Johnson – but she soon learns she’s swapped one liar for another and beats a hasty retreat … only to become entangled with Jay, the ex-lover of her best friend, Robyn.

Could her life get any more complicated?

Will she find true happiness in the Spanish sun or lose everyone she ever held dear?
And is the cost of finding herself too high a price to pay?

This book was easy to read and delves straight into the story, with the first saucy bit in chapter 2! Yes, this is definitely the book equivalent of a chick-flick, and I loved the ever tangling love and lust stories between all the characters.

My favourite section was where we find out the truth about the charmingly smug Professor Damien - without giving away a spoiler, let's just say it was "double trouble"!

A great book to chill with, this book has love affairs and OMG moments, and plenty of sections where you laugh-out-loud. There are also some sad and awkward moments, where you truly feel the character's pain and confusion. There's a few twists and turns in the story to make you gasp, but this also means you don't want to put the book down!

I really enjoyed this book, and whilst researching the author for this blog post, I discovered she has also written "How to have an affair" which is almost a prequel to this book.

This book is available on Amazon in both Kindle and paperback editions

  5. Since I started my food blog, my reading has been limited to recipes. As this book is available in the KIndle version, I will get it as I am curious about the ending.

  6. Thanks for a great review. However chick lit is not my cup of tea. I prefer my novels to be full of dwarves and magic, this is something my friends would enjoy though.

  9. I love summer as it's time to try and find some space to read. Normally it's easier as the children play outtside and I can sit out and grab some time to read. So thank you for the recommendation - I'll add it to my list!

  16. I'm not a chick lit aficionado, preferring something with more takeaway, but there's definitely a market for it judging by the ubiquity of used Mills & Boon ;-)
