Homemade Scotch Egg

Daddy Howe made Scotch-eggs for the first time! Scotch-eggs are delicious and a big part of a British picnic or party! It's a boiled egg wrapped in sausage meat, and fried! Scrummy yummy!

Here is how we did it....

Soft boil the eggs

Prepare the beaten eggs, flour and breadcrumbs

Remove the skin of the sausages so you just have sausage meat

Peel the soft boiled egg, and cover fully & gently with the sausage meat

Dip the sausage-covered egg into the flour, then the beaten egg, then finally the breadcrumbs

 Gently fry until golden brown

Leave to cool slightly and drain excess oil on kitchen paper

Voila! A homemade Scotch-egg!
And it was delicious! Thank you Daddy Howe for doing an excellent and yummy job!

    1. Hi Daddy, it's a little half-plastic egg that tells you when your eggs should be soft/medium/hard boiled. Works great, and only from the £1 shop

  2. Hahaha.... you don't want to know what I was thinking when you said scotch eggs. I thought you might soak eggs in Scotch and pickle them somehow. I think I like your idea better.

  3. I had no idea what a scotch egg was when I started reading this and now that I've read the whole thing, I have never seen or heard of anything like this. I don't think people really eat those around my parts :)

  4. I always wondered what a Scotch egg was-now I know thanks to this post and how to make them! It doesn't look that complicated to make either and the best part-I could see making just 2 for myself with no waste involved.

  6. Wow I've never seen anything like that. Could be because we don't eat meat... but the egg looks great. :)

  17. I've had them a few times before. My family is British so we still do have quite a few British traditions and this was one that I enjoyed. Never made it myself though. Now that I know I may have to do it one day for my own family.
