The Lunch Less Ordinary Blogger Challenge Week Three

See Week One HERE
See Week Two HERE

Week Three is here and Family Howe undertook mission number 1: Theme your lunch around a different country!

As we lived in Bavaria for three years, and I even had Tristan in Munich, we chose Germany as our inspiration!

We enjoyed bakery fresh brez'n (the German word for pretzels), and these are soft, chewy, and lightly sprinkled with sea salt on top. Delicious. Daddy Howe made his a bit more different by making a butter brez'n......cutting the pretzel very carefully horizontally, and spreading yummy salted butter on the inside edges.

I donned my Dirndl, the traditional Bavarian dress for ladies, and dug out our steins (large glass or ceramic beer glasses) and Bavarian teddy bear souvenirs. I even found Lee's Oktoberfest hat for Tristan to wear!

  1. Those pretzels look great. We used to buy them (not that brand) when we were out shopping. You could get all kinds of different dips for them.

  9. I love how you include your son in celebrating meals from other cultures. It is going to give him an awareness and sensitivity about learning about other customs when he gets older. It looks like you guys enjoyed that pretzel.
