Anagranimals Book Review

Family Howe were delighted to receive a first edition of Leith Moghli's childrens book 'The Anagranimals and the Wishing Tree' to review.

The book arrived very promptly, and was wrapped lovingly in purple tissue paper and ribbon, which Tristan opened with excitement. He immediately smiled and was telling me all the different animals on the front cover.

Having only just turned 4 back in July, I read the book to Tristan, and he loved hearing about how the animals rolled down a hill and found the wishing tree, and he loved how all the animals swapped body sections!

Tristan says "I love Pedro the Pig and if I could be an Anagranimal, I would have a crocodile body with bird wings so I could fly". This is a stunning paperback book with colourful illustrations (by Ian King) but a little 'wordy' so this book would be more suited to children aged 5/6+. Also, it's great to have a unisex book that both girls and boys can enjoy.

The only minor negative is that the word 'Anagranimals' can be a bit of a mouthful and a little difficult to say correctly.

This book is already available as an e-book from Amazon (£1.29, correct as of 31/07/13), and the paperback version is released tomorrow (Sunday, 1st September) for £7.99 (correct as of 31/08/13).

There are another two books in the pipeline, an interactive website (to be launched shortly), and a range of interchangeable cuddly toys currently going through the final prototype stage - This author has fantastic ambitions for his Anagranimals creation!

Thank you to author Leith for allowing Family Howe to have a sneak-peek at his new children's book - it will be treasured in our home library.
